Actual problems discussed on the PATLIB '98 meetlng of patent Information services

Abstract

The four subject fields of the conference were: regional patent information policy, client support, infiuence of future information technology, and international exchange - cooperation. The European Patent Office has introduced new information policy principles, their main focal points being the internet project, the shared patent service project on the Internet (DIPS), and the CD-ROM database GLOBALPat. The conference discussed new results of patent information services in regions other than Europe, primarily those in Japan and in the USA. Finally, American patent databases and programs are described that are available on the internet.
