Interterences of science and scientific information. Subjective reflections in four stages

Abstract

Science is the determining factor in the relation of science and scientific information. Its impact, however, is not simpiy a one-way influence: objectives, tcols, products of information systems affect scientific research. From a more comprehensive point of view, scientific library issues contain elements that are more than value protection and intermediation, in somé instances they even satisfy criteria of value creation. Honouríng and critical treatment of facts (sources) is aiso a feature of information work as it is that of scientific research, and this intention - traditionally, it can be said - links these two areas. Deveiopment of science is influenced most obviously by the higher order information activities which can generate links between known phenomena, observations, and which cast new light on earlier results of science.
