The decline of scientific libraries in Hungary over the past 25 years. A review of journal collections in the life sciences

Abstract

The author shows, with the aid of tables, the continuous reductions in journal collections over the past 25 years, including many core journal titles in the life sciences in special libraries. The author expresses his regret toward the large cutbacks in journal acquisitions which have contributed to the decline of these libraries. The tables also reflect the present qualities of scholars in the life sciences in Hungary.
