Document delivery - the future available now

Abstract

UMI's information services are presented. Its five main publishing programmes are: doctoral dissertations, serials in microform, books on demand, research collections, and electronic publishing - CD-ROM. Services produced by the application of CD-ROM technology are described in detail, including indexing and abstracting databases, full-text databases, and full text image databases. The Proquest Power Pages System encompasses all three services, and combines remote access with remote or local document delivery via network or fax. In addition to electronic document delivery, UMI continues to develop its traditional services, such as the Article Clearinghouse, which offers reprints of papers from nearly 14,500 publications.
