Changes to activities concerning intellectual property rights in Hungary

Abstract

The official government agency for intellectual property rights in Hungary is the National Office of Inventions (NOI). The author presents the improved organizational and technological infrastructure of NOI, the new laws and regulations concerning intellectual property rights, and the development of patent filling and granting activities. The operation of the Patent Information Centre within NOI, and NOl's efforts to develop ownership of intellectual property rights and overall participation in intellectual property issues in Hungary are also described. Finally, some events that have contributed to the national and international reputation of NOI are described.
