Information society - UNESCO - information superhighway

Abstract

Though information society and information superhighway are two distinct concepts, they are related closely with each other. The latter is not only a simple product of the former but also its catalyst. International communities should face the challenges of the information superhighway and its most pronounced form of appearance, the Internet. This work was initiated by the UNESCO when it organized the INFOETHICS Conference in 1997 March in Monaco.
