Acquisitions in Hungarian university libraries with World Bank support. Preparations

Abstract

Preparatory work on the proposed World Bank loan incorporating support for university libraries in Hungary has been going on since 1992. This loan would help solving problems related with acquisitions, trainmg and education, automation and structure improvement in libraries. The author outlines the preparatory survey for the possible allocation of acquisitions support, and estimates required loan figures for the period of 1994 through 1998. Annual share of the support for books, periodicals and other acquisitions would amount to million USD 7,1 and 1, respectively.
