Online searching of market research reports

Abstract

An accepted methodology at business corporations of the United States and United Kingdom as well as of other countries wilh developed market economy is to prepare market research reports to support business decisions. For this purpose online searchable databases are available at several hosts with the option to dipslay and print parts of or complete market studies. Eight full-text market report databases can be accessed at the online hosts Dialog and Data-Star, including Investext and four full-text databases of the MARKET-FULL category. They can be searched by various options, and selected parts of any study or the complete study can be printed or downloaded fur further use. Three bibliographic databases with references to a number of available market reports in hard copy can also be searched at these hosts. In addition to these databases, other online sources can be accessed for searching specific market information. Following a brief description of the most important databases on market reports and market information, the author suggests a "do-it-yourself" methodology for business professionals in Hungary to prepare their own specific market research report using online sources.
