The answer to the title question should be a yes, even from a double aspect. Various international scenarios predicting the disappearance of abstracting have misjudged the rate of disappearance and, in addition to technological factors, it Is also questionable in principle whether an abstract can be replaced by full text. There is a definite user demand for the maintenance of Hungarian language abstracting of international literature, but there are some groups ot information managers in Hungary which would prefer the usage of international, primarily English language abstracting services in this country.
