Training- in European framework

Abstract

The future of librarians' training will develop according lo the European integration, too. German library schools, especially Fachhochschule für Bibliothekswesen, Stuttgart, adopted a systematical approach to "Europeanization". For this purpose, a feasibility study group was organized under the auspieces of the Library Association BDB, in order to prepare recommendations for actions toward integration. In October 1991 the European Conference of Library and Information Education and Research (EUCLID) was formed with the participation of 14 European countries which would help gradual integration, rather than uniformization, of training objectives and methodologies.
