Abstract

1990 was the year of historical changes in Hungary: the country has introduced a democratic political structure, it has starled the change toward a market economy and new orientation toward the European Economic Community. The Hungarian market has been opened to products and services of an European information industry. The possibilities to their rapid expansion are given tor the development of telecommunications and information infrastructures, for online and CD-ROM databases, videotex, teletext services, for libraries and information-related companies. The main development tacts and intentions imply a continuously growing Hungarian market for the European information industry. A strong position could be established on this market by supporting education and training programs.
