National registration of international trademarks and industrial models

Abstract

The first Hungarian trademark law was put into force in 1890, thus the year 1990 is the centenary o! this important legal regulation. For this reason to emphasize the importance of the intormation system of this legal institution, within the framework of scientific and technical information services, because this is the only area ot industrial property protection where protection can be lengthened without limitations by 10-year periods, and in many cases the trademark register is the only valid database with reliabie information concerning the past. From the available documentation one can be intormed on the history of trademarks (industrial models), all data, notices, modifications, changes concerning trademarks can be traced back and, on the other hand, the register enables preliminary information, search and avoidance of coincidences with existing rights tor the applicants of trademarks (industrial models).
