Application of the methods for patent information analysis

Abstract

About one third of the knowledge in the scientific and technical literature has been published in the form ot patent documents. In addition to the setective utilization of the specific information content of individual patent documents, important knowledge can be acquired through Ihe analysis of patent, collections organized appropriately. The overall results and conclusions are useful for revealing the processes and trends of technical development. and on this basis, technologicat development forecasts be made. Specific features and applications of patent analysis methods are discussed briefly.
