Finland as a node in the international and regional information networks

Abstract

Finnish information scientists have acknowledged that they can accomplish their ideas only through international contacts and cooperation. The closest cooperation has been established with Nordic countries that is coordinated by NORDINFO since 1976. Its information projects have been given high priorities in Finland. Cooperation between Finland and several international agencies and projects exist, including EURONET, EUSIDIC, UNESCO, ISO. IFLA, FID and others, as well as bilateral cooperation programmes.
