Bibliographic authority control

Abstract

In the Hungarian literature on Library Science and in the associated practice, the concept of authority control as well as related concepts cause always a terminology problem. A proposal is presented for the proper Hungarian terminology corresponding to authority control, authority data, authority record, authority file. The significance and technical possibilities of the application of authority files are discussed.
