Information Babel - Information management implications of the changes in East Europe

Abstract

The political changes taking place in East Europeah countries have induced a fundamental change in the business language of these countries, too. Together with the terminology of market economy, new institutional and behavioural forms have been emerging. During this "language reform", however, the old language patterns are also existing. The mixture of the old and new business terminology can make, in addition to language, also the mind of business participants and the institutional background inconsistent. The questions arise: can a new economic order grow out of this Babelian chaos, can new business behavioural forms be established or not? These questions will be answered only in the years or decades ahead.
