Toward a bibliographic information system of Economics

Abstract

In Hungary, the problems of the literature supply and information services on Economics have been dealt with intensively since the seventies. The Central Library of the University of Economics has been playing a decisive role in the planning of this information system, and in the realization of some of its elements, especially in the gradual introduction of recent information technology and in the advancement of information culture of economists. However, it is preferable to develop the information policy on national level, and legal frames for information production, flow and sales should be established.
