National and international co-operation activities within the database field from a technical university library

Abstract

The Technical University Library of Norway serves users out of the University, too. Within the framework of its activities, national and international co-operation, especially that with Nordic countries, has a major share. Concerning databases, a co-operation contract was signed with the Library of Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. Connection has been established with several online host services, including ESA-IRS for which the library acts as the national centre. Since 1986, the library has been functioning as the Norwegian DIANE centre. In addition to library and information services. it performs consultancy. educational and referral services, too. Some research and development projects are worth to mention like CD-ROM and PC software development and analysis programmes etc.
