Abstract

Is there a demand in Hungary for the bibliographic processing and content analysis of Hungarian and international journals? Is there a real demand today for technological and techno-economical information? How did user needs change in the last 6- 8 years? Can a correlation be found between the special importance of a given subject field and the information needs for thls same subject field? What can information institutes and libraries do for inducing information needs, and for their satisfaction at a proper level? Does the information and library sector need governmental support for the future? The answers to these questions to the general one of "how to proceed" are sought by the author through an analysis of statistical data and by examining the adaptability to international experiences.
