Federal library structure: Libraries and networks

Abstract

The author's question. concerning some overall problems of library matters in the Federal Republic ol Germany, is: actually who makes library policy in the FRG? He discards solutions to this problem based on centrally oriented organizations, however attractive such solutions might be, and he supports cooperative solutions instead. The author's conviction is that the strength of Federal library structure has been provided by multidicectional initiatives and by close connection wilh the practice. Further activities should be based on these establishments.
