Abstract

Efticient abstracting can be performed only on the basis of advanced complex guidelines. To create such guidelines, existing experiences should be utilized as well as a reconsideration of the main steps of the abstracting process and of information digesting is neederj, taking into account the relative dependency and independency of an abstract. These facts should be well represented in the guidelines. Based on new knowledge, the functions ot the abstracts and their required information capability should be determined by the guidelines, together with the requiremenfs on the structure and contents of abstracts.
