140 years of the Library of Budapest Technical University

Abstract

The present lecture was held on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Library of BTU, on 9 May 1988. Major events, personal achievemems and results that were playing key roles in the Library's development were highlighted. The present status and future trends of the Library were also discussed. The main difficulties now have been associated with the inadequacy of room in the Library and of its budget. Future perspectives in the development of computerized automation, reprography and micrography seem to be promising.
