Abstract

The values that can be taken by parameters characterizing a product group create an evaluation set that can be regarded as a vector space. Each product is represented by a vector in this space. A standard or an "idea!" product can be assigned according to the objective of the investigation (world level, up-to-datedness etc.) by the parameter values of its vector. The qualification is performed by the comparison of parameters as vector factors, by "distance" when piacing the vector into the evaluation space. Characterising the products by parameters reflecting quantity, quality, economy metrics, and by interpreting them through the vector analogy, the evaluation and comparison problem of the technological levels can be reduced to the problem of ordinal (sequential) classification.
