Aspectsof budgetary support for the acquisition in leading special libraries

Abstract

In a document on the management plan of the library development project in Hungary, produced by the Ministry of Education, a decision was published which says that central support must be given to the most important libraries and services providing professional literature in this country. According to this decision, criteria are presented for its realization, through the example of the National Technical library. Crlteria acquiring such supoort are:
• the volume of direct and indirect services in terms of readers, iending, and interlibrary loan. document delivery, respectively:
• participation in the UAP;
• acquisition policy based on surveys and coordination;
• support by the parent organization for libraries within information institutions.
