Application fields of REM

Abstract

An essential element of human efforts is that he can select the option (e.g., activities) from several possibilities that corresponds most closely to his objectives. This selection is called decision. Decisions can be categorized according to different criteria. The difficulty and uncertainty of selecting the best version is proportional to the number of criteria upon which the decision should be made. The multiparameter decision problem, e.g. the optimum product structure of a company, the selection of leaders, jury verdict etc. can be solved only by the multiaspect approach. The computerassisted decision making provides a method, a tool and a possibility for solving satisfactorily these types of problems.
