Abstract

The organisational and financial structure of libraries in the UK do not support coordination. However, nelworks based on resource sharing are quite common in the country. Both the development of information technology and the economical factors motivale the establishment of computer networks. This leads to several problems concerning education, like Ihe expecled level of technological expertise, what to include in and what to exclude from the curricula of training courses, optimum training duration and maximum permissible workload to graduate sludenls etc. The objectives and intended outcomes of the training courses should be defined precisely.
