Abstract

The difference between usual commodities and the information as a commodity has been studied, and the characteristic features of the information market are analyzed. Special libraries in science, industry, agriculture etc. in Hungary have increased the output of information products, in addition to their traditional library functions. A difference in the economic evaluation is required between services directed to traditional activities and those for the emerging information market. This duality may cause troubles in the information market in Hungary.
