Software documentations - A new library resource of grey literature in the Central Library for Technology (CLT) of GDR

Abstract

The Technical University Library of Dresden is also the CLT of the German Democratic Republic. In its double function CLT established the PROBIB (Program Bibliothek) library in order to utilize more effectively computer software in science and in education. This database was built by the students of the University and by the young librarians of CLT applying the CDS/ISIS system. This database contains all computer programs located at the University, thus providing a record of a new type of grey literature. It is planned that in the future also complete programs will be stored in appropriate data recording media.
