Letter to Trade Union special librarians

Abstract

In Hungary both the public Trade Union libraries and special libraries of a number (about a hunred) medium-size companies are run by an independent librarian. The majority of them has experiences only with Trade Union public libraries. This paper offers in a letter form an aid for librarians to gain special library attitudes by a presen-tation of the problem solving and information habits of technical professionals and by categorizing them. Next, proposals are given for the common public and special librarians how to establish to upgrade and operate company technical líbraries.
