The development of the computerized information system of archeological findings began in the Hungarian National Museum and in the Archeological Institute of the National Academy of Sciences in 1982. Beside updating documentation, the concept for development has been elaborated. The central database will be stored in a main-frame computer taken on lease; the data will be input and retrieved by microcomputers located in the individual museums. At present the software and hardware environment of the system is being developed.
