Computerized information services in Bulgaria. CINTI, the national centre of scientific and technical information transfer

Abstract

An overview of retrospective literature search and SDI services with data of their use are presented. The leading organization of the Professional information system in the People's Republic of Bulgaria is the Central Institute of Scientific and Technical Information or, in its Bulgarian acronym, CINTI. The activities of CINTI include the development of information systems, central processing and services, intermediary of foreign information services, control of the development of the national computerized information service, coordination of research for a standard information retrieval language, introduction of new information technologies. CINTI as the representative of Bulgaria in the International Scientific and Technical Information System. The Appendix contains the main characteristics of computerized databases used for information services in Bulgaria.
