Office automation in Hungary

Abstract

The worldwide development of electronics and computers in the 70s has promoted office automation as well. In the 80s, the conditions in Hungary have become ready to join gradually to this development. This paper summarizes the present situation in Hungary, based on office functions, communication and information processing technology, data recording and storage. The highest achievable level under the given circumstances of office automation is presented regarding both methods and hardware, with word processing emphasized. Important technical and trade information for office automation applications is tabulated.
