Abstract

The National Technical Information Centre and Library, Hungary, has been broadcasting technical information via the country's teletext service since 1985, on 3 pages each week. It is beneficial first of all for the professionals living out of the capital where NTICL is located. At the beginning, bibliographic information was broadcast mainly on new acquisition coupled with copy delivery and translation of items advertised. Recently, publications of NTICL and conferences are advertised this way. This latter service proved to be more effective than the former type. The dissemination of the teletext service is unfavourably influenced by the low number of tv sets with teletext decoder.
