FID and Hungary

Abstract

The Vice-President of the Hungarian National Committee for the International Federation for Documentation (FID) examined the history of the Federation from the point of view of its relations with Hungarian specialists and institutions. Hungarian specialists participated in editing and publishing the Bibliographia Economica Universalis; in developing the Universal Decimai Classification (UDC) and in its application in Hungary; took part in the activities of several FID committees; actively participated in FID meetings and conferences. Besides co-operation in Professional matters Hungarian representatives were continuously participating since 25 years in the management of FID and in the formulation of its policy.
