FID's role in international cooperation

Abstract

The Secretary General of FID outlined in her lecture the Federation's main directions for international cooperation. FID's aim is to promote research in documentation and development of documentation, as expressed in its Statutes. FID has more than 70 national and inlernational members as well as nearly 300 institutional and individual affiliates from about 90 countries. It has consultative status in several UN organizations and is cooperating with other intergovernmental and nongovernmental inlernalional organizations.
