National librarianship: the fusion power plant of memory andimagination

The author – President of the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office – looks at libraries’ stabilisation, innovation and inspiration efforts from the perspective of his learned professions (engineering and economics) and as head of the government agency responsible for protecting intellectual property. He examines the role of Hungarian creativity and innovation ability in national economy, as well as the performance indicators of Hungarian libraries. As the third theme he discusses copyright patterns and models, with the intention to raise awareness of how new research results are supporting advancement.
