Presenting the Lukács Archives

Abstract

The Lukács Archives is to be found on the fifth floor of a Bauhaus building, in the flat of the late György Lukács. The building is admired by visitors because of its magnificent staircase. The Archives was founded soon after the philosopher’s death, thanks to a generous decision of contemporary leaders respecting Lukács’ reputation, as well as to his library and manuscripts having got to the possession of HAS according to his will. The article presents the fate of the collection and the products of relevant publishing activities
