-Abstract
In our days, the cooperation of libraries that are run by the same authority, or have common collection interest and tasks can materialize at various levels. The cooperation must be based on the appropriate software applications enabling all the participating libraries to share bibliographic records, authority files, databases and a common searching interface. The Köztéka integrated library system, developed by the Computer and Automation Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences offers this type of cooperation for libraries, especially public libraries in small towns and villages that belong to the same administrative unit. The article gives a detailed overview of the features of the system.
