Managing library building projects - Landmark Libraries Atelier, Wien, October 5-6, 2006

Abstract

The main goal of Landmark Libraries Atelier is to provide an opportunity to anyone involved in a library building project to consult with other librarians who have had experience in library building. The article presents both the method applied at the Wien atelier and the library building projects presented (the public libraries of Antwerp, Kobarid, Nyíregyháza and Wien). The Wien atelier demonstrated that the key success factor of library building projects is the continuous consideration of the needs of the general public.
