Unified computer program for controlling the civil engineering information exchange in the CMEA countries

Abstract

In 1981 a trial project was launched for magnetic tape information exchange among the civil engineering information centers in the CMEA countries. With the experience of the preparation of a program for controlling its own input records, the Building Information Centre in Hungary undertook the development of a unified computer program to be applied by all the countries participating in the information exchange. The article describes the main characteristics and functions of the program completed in 1982 as well as its contribution to the increase of information exchange efficiency.
