Attempt to revise the acquisition subjects of the National Technical Library

Abstract

The appropriate fulfilment of national and institutional objectives in library and information services requires the revision of the acquisition subjects of the National Technical Library, Hungary. Up to 1980 four attempts have been made to determine the subject scope of the Library's acquisitions. Based on these past versions and on the latest needs the full scope of the acquisition subjects has recently been developed which is published in the Appendix. The aspects considered during the new revision as well as factors hindering the development of acquisition are discussed.
