Present status of basic library training in Hungary and the possibility of its standardization

Abstract

At the beginning of the medium-level library education in Hungary in 1962 the organization of the training courses at the basic level (started in 1953) was assigned to the library network centres. Since these centers organize their courses differently in practically every respect, the author presents a proposition for the standardization of basic library education. The critical comments by the representatives of the network centers on the project are also presented.
