Problems and perspectives of networking in social science information and documentation in Hungary

Abstract

After a brief description of the historical background of networking activities in social science information and documentation in Hungary, the hurdles of network cooperation prevailing in the early 70s are discussed. The Working Group for Social Science Information set up in the late 70s encourages cooperation on the basis of common interest; its initiative, proposing networking in a computer-assisted environment, has been welcome by the institutions concerned.
