International cooperation and social sciences information in Hungary

Abstract

Hungary has been an active participants in the ECSSID conferences and its working groups, as well as in the international cooperation in social sciences information and documentation within the frameworks of FID S/D and C/3, ICSSID, INTERCONCEPT and ISTIS (= International Scientific and Technical Information System). The bibliographie information services of social sciences in Hungary are based on special libraries, therefore to understand the present status and to predict the future trends in the fields of social science information, the overview of the libraries in question is necessary. The Working Committee on Social Sciences Information, supported by the Committee on Science Politics under the Council of Ministers, has been using every efforts to promote coordination of social sciences information in Hungary, with special attention to its automatization.
