30 years of the Hungarian journal Scientific and Technical Information (TMT). Part 2: 21 years under the present title

Abstract

Since the journal has appeared under its present title (from 1963 onwards) it is characterized by a uniform information scientific treatment of actual problems in librarianship and information. Its major line has gradually been converted toward modern technologies of information like computerization, online services and others. In order to promote new technologies in Hungary, the national and international results have been published and compared in numerous papers. TMT published 758 articles during its 21 years of existence and, together with its predecessor journal (for 9 years) 1232 papers altogether. The author summarizes the history of the journal from the aspects of realization of the editors' objectives and analyses the distribution of its contents. A chapter is devoted to the deseription of changes in the journal's life.
