Abstract

PRODINFORM is one of the successor companies of the Scientific Information and Industrial Economic Centre of the Metal and Machine Industry (KG-INFORMATIK) and the Documentation Translation Bureau of Heavy Industry (NIMDOK). It has been in existence since 1982 with the dual objective of engineering information and consultant services. It publishes primary and secondary information materials, stores and disseminates technical reference and directory publications on production equipment. Its major departments are the Technical and Economic Information Bureau the Superhard Materials Consultant and Sales Bureau, and the Systems Technology Bureau. An independent department is its Audiovisual Language Studio. The Editions division and the Documentation depository comprising the Library, the trade literature store and the store of other document types, operate within the Technical and Economic Information Bureau.
