Special library network at a large industrial enterprise

Abstract

After a brief introduction to the company Csepel Iron and Metal Works, its network of 13 special libraries is discussed in detail. Recently, in contrast with a lower rate of increase in acquisitions, its usage has grown steadily (between 1974 and 1980 the number of users has doubled). Unfortunately, there are deficiencies in some basic operational requirements (room, equipment, personnel etc). To render the future role of the library network more favourable - in addition to the improvement of the operational conditions - the development of its information services is also required.
