Evaluation of organization and participation rates of international scientific conferences

Abstract

International scientific conferences arc important means for conveying research results. Based upon the dala of more than 500 conference proccedings the "weight" of selected countries and country groups in the organization of and participation at international conferences is analyzed. The indicators obtained have proved to be useful models for characterizing the scientific activities of the countries studied. The method is also capable for revealing the positive and negative trends of scientific relations between countries.
