Why did we need and why do we need a new library? (Libraries, too, have their destiny…)

Abstract

The essay outlines the history of planning and constructing the new library of the University of Szeged, from the time of dreams to their implementation. It describes the theoretical bases and practical necessities having determined the realisation of the new block that includes the library as well. It presents in short the units in the building which belong to the library, the main tasks of these units and the functional relations between them.
