Special aspects of the mechanization of patent information

Abstract

Different patent searches are described with the conclusion that in most cases the computer-based retrieval has to be followed by relatively much manuál search. The possibilities of patent information retrieval are also discussed introducing the International Patent Information System of the Comecon countries, the DERWENT system and the International Patent Docu-mentation Center (INPADOC).
